Inauguration of Port of Jazan Primary and Downstream Industries

Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz inaugurated today, Sept. 7, Port of Jazan Primary and Downstream Industries (JPDI) in presence of several officials, partners, as well as local and foreign investors.

 

Khaled Alsalem, President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), said an agreement for the port operation and investment was signed with Hutchinson. Moreover, a SAR 4 billion agreement was inked with a Chinese company for the construction of an aluminum refinery.

 

The harbor is fitted with two breakwaters that create a shelter to the port basin and berth area for three (3) tanker berths and one (1) sulfur berth. It has a minimum depth of 16.5m and is marked by a number of light buoys.
