City Cement Co. signed today, Feb. 3, an agreement with the National Electricity Transmission Co., a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), to construct an electricity transmission station to power the company's plant in Marat, with a load capacity of 105.5 MVA.
This came as part of the Liquid Fuel Displacement Program (LFDP). It is valid until Dec. 31, 2025, or until the project’s completion, according to a Tadawul filing.

The agreement is an extension of the efforts undertaken under the national energy system as well as the industrial and mining sectors to achieve the LFDP’s objectives.
Further, the project will contribute to reducing emissions from electricity generation within the company's facilities, City Cement said, adding that the related financial impact will be disclosed later.
