US crude stockpiles rise by over 4M barrels, says API

US crude oil inventories rose by more than 4.6 million barrels during the week ended March 14, despite a 1.1 million barrel drop in Cushing crude oil inventories, the data released by the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed.

 

Gasoline stocks decreased by 1.7 million barrels last week, with distillate stocks—including diesel and heating oil—declining by about 2.1 million barrels.

 

On March 18, Brent crude futures for May delivery settled 0.7%, or 51 cents, lower at $70.56 a barrel.

 

Similarly, the prices of US WTI crude futures for April delivery declined 1%, or 68 cents, to $66.9 a barrel.
