Saudia’s passenger traffic rises 9% in Q1 2025

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, reported a 9% year-on-year (YoY) increase in passenger traffic during the first quarter of 2025, carrying more than nine million passengers.

 

The airline operated 48,100 scheduled and additional flights in the period, up 3% YoY, logging over 143,600 flight hours.

 

Domestic traffic rose 12% to exceed four million passengers. Saudia operated 27,100 domestic flights during the quarter, a 4% increase YoY, with total flight hours reaching 44,200.

 

Internationally, the carrier transported more than five million passengers, an 8% YoY rise. It operated 20,900 international flights, up 2%, with total flight hours reaching 99,400.

Saudia attributed the growth to a flexible operational model that adjusts seat capacity in line with demand, especially during peak seasons. The airline also cited its modern fleet and highly skilled Saudi workforce as key enablers of operational efficiency, in line with the goals of the National Aviation Strategy.
