GO signs MoU to accelerate digital transformation, enable AI in Syria

Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Co. (GO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Syria’s Ministry of Communication & Technology (MOCT) to provide integrated digital solutions to enhance the country’s digital transformation (DT).

In a statement, GO said that the MoU aims at providing integrated digital solutions that support the digital transformation journey in the Syrian Arab Republic. This move comes as part of GO’s regional expansion strategy, which focuses on strengthening its presence in Arab markets as a leading provider of telecommunications and information technology solutions, including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

The memorandum covers areas of comprehensive DT, including the development of government solutions, the establishment of a national data center, the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. It also covers the development of digital infrastructure, cloud computing services, cybersecurity, and the development of unified digital platforms aligned with global best practices to accelerate digital transformation in Syria.
