Here’s how TASI fared in Q1 2025

Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) ended Q1 2025 slightly lower. It fell by 0.1%, or 12 points, to 12,025 compared to 12,037 in 2024, data compiled by Argaam showed.
In the three-month period, listed companies disclosed their annual results for 2024. The market was hurt by the decline in global markets and the US President’s decision on imposing tariffs.
Other events that shaped Q1 2025 included the US Federal Reserve’s decision on holding interest rates steady for two consecutive meetings, with expectations of two potential rate cuts of 25 basis points each in the year.
Donald Trump has been officially inaugurated for a second term as US President.
Five companies—Masar’s operator Umm Al Qura for Development and Construction Co. (UQDC), Entaj, Derayah Financial, Nice One, and Almoosa Health —have been listed and started trading on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul).
Moreover, the Ministry of Finance announced the actual budget for 2024, with expenditures amounting to SAR 1.37 trillion and revenues of SAR 1.25 trillion, implying in a deficit of SAR 115.6 billion.
Oil prices ranged between $68 and $82 in the first quarter of 2025.

Sector Performance:
Seventeen market sectors closed out the first quarter in the red territory, while five ended in the green.
Media and entertainment led losing sectors, shedding 31%. Utilities and Insurance fell by 13% and 10%, respectively.
On the positive side, real estate management and development added 15% in the three-month period. Telecommunications and banks gained 13% and 8%, respectively.

TASI hit its highest level in Q1 2025 at 12,536 points on Jan. 29, and recorded its highest close on Feb. 10 at 12,472 points.
On the other hand, it fell to its lowest level of 11,535 on March 11, and marked its lowest close of 11,705 points on March 12.
The highest traded value was recorded on Jan. 28 at 9.04 billion.
Meanwhile, March 23 recorded the lowest traded value at SAR 2.64 billion.

Blue chips showed mixed performance. Saudi Aramco and SABIC dropped 5% each. ACWA Power tumbled 15%.
Meanwhile, Al Rajhi Bank and Saudi National Bank rose 8% and 6%, respectively. stc added 13%.
ACWA Power Co. was the top loser among blue chip stocks, slumping 37%.
